Kids Count Conference Scheduled in Las Cruces on Nov. 9

NGage New Mexico and New Mexico Voices for Children (NMVC) are planning their first-ever Southern New Mexico Kids Count Conference on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Las Cruces Convention Center, 680 E University Ave, Las Cruces (map)

Speakers include
  • Frank Lopez, Executive Director, Ngage New Mexico
  • James Jimenez, Executive Director, New Mexico Voices for Children
  • Nick Johnson, Senior Vice President; Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
  • Amber Wallin, Kids Count Director, New Mexico Voices for Children
  • Erica Surova, Data Analyst, New Mexico State University Center for Community Analysis.
The event will also feature a moderated panel of local legislators from southern New Mexico. Panelists include New Mexico State Representative Nathan Small, Las City Councilor Gill Sorg, Las Cruces City Councilor Kasandra Gandara, and Doña Ana County Commissioner Billy Garrett.

General Admission is $15.00; General Admission with Continuing Education Credits is $30.  The event is free to students of New Mexico State University and Doña Ana Community College.

NMVC and CHI St. Joseph's Children held a similar conference in Albuquerque in June.
