With so many people across the demographic spectrum using smartphones to find information, it makes sense for Roadrunner Food Bank to provide an online application. OK, who uses the word "application?" It's the Roadrunner Food Bank App!
Thanks to the work of the local mobile technology company AppCityLife, the state's largest food bank provides fingertip access to food drop-off locations,
information about upcoming events, and other information.
The App can be downloaded via the usual modes: Apple App Store and Google Play.
The idea of the app was first conceived in 2010 and the project evolved in the ensuing years, according to AppCityLife co-founder Lisa Abeyta
App Features
Maps: food pick-up sites, donation sites
Push Notifications: users opt in to receive notices on upcoming drives, donated food distributions, etc.
Info: General information including website, phone numbers, social media, how to volunteer
Other Resources: quick access to transit app, other health and human services, prescription discount cards, etc.
