Hillel House at UNM Invites You to Two Conversations on Peace

Hillel House at the University of New Mexico cordially invites you to join in conversation with representatives of Roots/Juhur/Shoreshim, the Palestinian Israeli Initiative for Understanding, Nonviolence and Reconciliation, on September 16-17. Two events are scheduled.

 "A Painful Hope: Seeing the Humanity of Your Enemy," will feature Roots activists –one a Christian Palestinian, Antwan Saca and one an Israeli settler, Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger - as they tell their personal stories and the intertwining of their stories. Friday, September 16, 3:00-5:00 p.m.,  Acoma A&B Rooms (second floor) of the Student Union Building at UNM.

On Saturday, September 17, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Hillel House invites the community  to participate in a special talk with Rabbi Schlesinger as Shabbat comes to a close. He will discuss Jewish sources for openness to understanding the other, existential humility, pluralism, and forgiveness. Havdalah and dessert will follow.
