Lent is a time to remember those who live in a desert not of their choosing, those who have been deserted and forgotten.   —Lawrence Cunningham, emeritus professor of theology at the University of Notre Dame

O Christ, in your death and resurrection, you have conquered all the forces of evil.  During these days of Lent, may we be strengthened by your Spirit, so that we might serve God b helping those who suffer from the evil of hunger. Amen.
