Archdiocese of Santa Fe to Host Feed the Hungry Day on Sept. 30

The Archdiocese of Santa Fe invites the public to Feed the Hungry Day, a opportunity to examine viable ways to address hunger within our diocesan borders and to respond in practical ways,

The event--a combination of panel discussions and presentations--will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Holy Family Parish, 562 Atrisco (map), 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event will conclude with a Mass presided by Archbishop John Wester. Admission is $10 (including lunch) and non-perishable food items to donate to local food pantries.Register Online (via secure site)

9:00-10:00am Arrival, sign in, Continental Breakfast
10:00-10:30am Welcoming and Opening Prayer

Session 1
10:30-11:15am  “When I was hungry, you gave me to eat”
(Panel presentation—4-5 speakers from local food banks & organizations)

11:15am-11:45am Break and exhibits

Session II
11:45am-12:15pm : Feeding our Spiritual Hunger – Fr. Larry Bernard, OFM

12:15pm-12:30pm Break / instructions for Lunch

12:30pm-1:30pm Lunch and exhibits

1:30pm-3:00pm “Sort and Sack” event: meals for local food bank

Prayer for the end of hunger (CRS Prayer Walk)
3:00pm-3:30pm Break / move back to gym

Session III
3:30pm-4:15pm  CRS Speaker on Global Solidarity – Norma Valdez

Introduce Helping Hands event that will take place at the V Encuentro

4:15pm-4:30pm Break and preparation for Mass

4:30pm- 5:30pm Mass with Archbishop Wester
